Yeahhooo... another 3-day weekend coming coz 01 May 2006 is a public holiday in Malaysia. Lots to do; more painting, furniture browsing and buying, catching a movie, catching up with wife (and in-laws), catching up with a few DVD's that I've bought but haven't watched (hopefully can squeeze time doing this one hehe), writing stuffs to be posted in this blog etc. etc.
This Sunday, 23 April 2006, I'll be one of the speakers for a Cartoon Conference (I shall let you know how it goes). A friend-cum-organisor-of-the-event, asks for my (psychological... hee) profile, so that I can be introduced to more properly, and for record purposes.
Here's what I give to him:
Abdun Nizar, a Pisces who enjoys eating chicken more than eating fish, which explains his current physique; having a slight rounded tummy. An Engineering graduate from an overseas university, now doing not-so-engineering work in intellectual property. Occasionally, he enjoys squeezing his intellect by DRAWING cartoon sketches and WRITING in his blog, personal website and his yet-to-finish book. He is also an avid READER, a keen TRAVELER, a MOVIE buff, a MUSIC lover and is easily attracted to everything RED. Known as Abdun among his friends, and Nizar among his families, he recently changes his status from a bachelor to a husband, and is now striving to change it again so that he can soon be called a father too.
Had a 'productive' 4-day weekend last 8-11 April with my wife (I leave it to you to imply what 'productive' means, hehe). Anyway, my wife and mother arrived in KL Friday night. We visited a relativeSaturday morning; bought paints of 3 different colours for our house (I shall let you see the house before and after it gets painted), sent mother to sis' house so that she could spend some time with her grand-daughters and went to some furniture stores and managed to find furniture that we both like.
On Saturday, my wife's parents, two brothers and two relatives visited us for lunch and tea. They didn't have the trouble finding our place, since we are quite close to UKM Hospital, the place where my wife studied.
Malaysia was on a public holiday yesterday (Tuesday), so me and wife agreed to take a day off on Monday. Monday morning - we brisk walked at the nearby lake, then got very lost for two and a half hours, trying to find the IKEA store. But the trip to IKEA was worth it - got all that we aimed for, plus more. The trip back home also got diverted at some point. Anyhow, to Ija, I enjoyed 'being lost' with you....wink!
P/S: I shall repaint the house myself. That should help trim down my tummy....hopefully. Coming Soon: 1. It's Not Just About The Cartoons, You Moronic Baboons 2. How to survive the "Hippopotamus" 3. Num8ers 4. Learn alphabets from movies: 'D' is for diamond (The Pink Panther); Destination (Final Destination 3); Descending (The Descent); Dick (Have Fun With Dick And Jane) Diego (of Ice Age 2) and Death (When A Stranger Calls). While 'V' is for Vampires (Underworld 2) and Vendetta.
The Oxford Dictionary says "boulevard" means wide city street, often with trees on each side. As for me, "boulevard" is the path that I thread my way through in life. At times, the trees give me protection from the hot sun above. While at other times, no amount of trees can comfort me when it pours. Come rain or shine, the road continues to provide me with the journey of life until it reaches its destination.
People say I'm sweet, kind, a gentleman, caring, romantic and observant (let's just concentrate on the good attributes). I love those who matter to me, and care about things that count. I'm a Malay Muslim and proud to be one. I DON'T think Islam should be judged by those nasty followers. Islam should be judged by the religion itself; its teachings and the purpose behind them. I mean, humans will still behave like humans right? Usually, regardless of religions that they embrace. It is also in my nature to please, since I believe that TO PLEASE EVERYONE IS AN IMPOSSIBLE FEAT, BUT NOT TRYING TO PLEASE ANYONE OTHER THAN ONESELF IS A POSSIBLE DEFEAT (own quote). Apart from sharing the things I read, watch and listen to, I'd also share my thoughts and feelings, and express my views on certain issues. Last by no means least, I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM EVERYONE OF YOU OUT THERE ABOUT ANYTHING! If we knew each other 'in the previous life' and had lost contact, or we hardly contact each other nowadays, do email me or comment on my entries. Feel free to explore my blog & website (http://members.fortunecity.com/abdunmy/). Cheerio & Wassalam.
Sometimes, to boldly go (where no one has gone before) at warp speed may cause you unnecessary troubles.

Lesson from the quote: Rushing to reach your destinations or goals may get you there fast, but may not always be the smartest thing to do!
You have to find something that you love enough to be able to take risks, jump over the hurdles and break through the brick walls that are always going to be placed in front of you. If you don't have that kind of feeling for what it is you are doing, you'll stop at the first giant hurdle.
